The Final Days

The Messenger ﷺ completed his trust, emphasised prayer and returned to his Lord.

After returning from Hajj, the Prophet ﷺ became ill. He continued to guide the community and asked Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه to lead the prayers. His concern for worship, justice and the people remained present through his final days.

He passed away in Madinah in the room of Sayyidah ʿA’ishah رضي الله عنها. The Companions were shaken. Abu Bakr reminded them that Muhammad ﷺ had passed, while Allah is Ever-Living and never dies. Love for the Messenger ﷺ would now be expressed through fidelity to Allah and the guidance he delivered.

What We Learn
