Allah honoured His Messenger ﷺ with the Night Journey from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa and the Ascension. Among its great gifts was the obligation of the five daily prayers, the believer’s repeated return to Allah.
Meanwhile, people from Yathrib listened to the message during pilgrimage seasons. Their pledges at Aqabah committed them to faith, moral conduct and protection of the Prophet ﷺ. A new social home for Islam was forming. Musʿab ibn ʿUmayr رضي الله عنه taught Qur’an in Yathrib, preparing hearts before the migration.
