The Night Journey and Ascension

O the best of those who perform the chaste prayers,
in pursuit and above the texts of the verses of drawing

And who is the greatest sign to the one who considers it
And who is the greatest blessing to the one who seizes it?

I walked from one sanctuary at night to another as the full moon walked through a darkness

And you rose until you attained a status
from within two bows that you could not reach or aim at.

And all the prophets and messengers presented you with it, as a servant is presented to a servant.

And you were breaking through the seven layers of them
in a procession in which you were the most knowledgeable one

Even if you do not leave anything for the one who is waiting
from the nearness, nor any advancement for the one who is waiting.

You lowered each position with the addition, when
you were called to raise it, like the singular knowledge.

In order to gain access, i.e. hidden
from eyes, and a secret, i.e. hidden

So you cleared every pot that was not shared, and passed every place that was not crowded.

And great is the extent of the ranks you have been given
and great is the realization of the blessings you have been given

Good news for us, the community of Islam. Indeed, we have a pillar of care that is not broken down.

When God called us to obey him/as the most generous of messengers, we were the most generous of nations.
