A historical Day

SUNDAY 19 JANUARY 2014

As salaam u Alaikum to our fellow Ummati of Muhammad Sallalahu alaihi wasallam

How beautiful October of 1952 was. Cape Town was beautified by the love its inhabitants expressed for the best of Allah’s creation.

It seems inconceivable today that 60 000 people will gather collectively and in a unified manner to “Express delight at the birth of the Light”.

It took one great scholar and Islamic missionary to attract over 36000 people to welcome him at the grand parade and 60 000 people to the green point track to attach themselves to and rekindle their love for Muhammad Mustapha Sallalahu alaihi wasallam. It was a love story of note!

The great poet Safee Siddique who accompanied the great Aalim in the plane as they landed at Wingfield airport; recalls how the captain asked them to look down at this massive red carpet below only to advise that it is not a red carpet but the red kufiyas of the people waiting to meet a very important VIP on board the plane.

It was The Historical event and the largest mawlid gathering of the last century. The question now is;  will you be part of The Historical and largest gathering of this century expressing love for the one; our creator Allah subhanahu wataala confers the title of “Mercy unto all the worlds and a mercy unto everything other than Allah” meaning that he is a mercy even sent down to the environment etc etc.

Maulana Abdul Aleem Siddique was a man of love and peace and he harnessed and ignited those characteristics to those around him and today he lies resting peacefully at the feet of his great…. Grand Aunt and our mother Sayyidah Ayesha radiyallahu anha in Jannatul Baqee.

So we invite you and your family to participate in and create our very own love story of 19 January 2014 and perhaps if we express our love with sincerity and showcase the gentleness of our Muhammad inspired personalities to the rest of the children of Adam and Eve; we may introduce them significantly to their final messenger and saviour Muhammad Sallalahu alaihi wasallam.

So bring your friends; families-mat and picnic basket- along(irrespective of race; gender; creed or religion) and let us enjoy a picnic styled day of happiness; songs ; poetry and pearls of wisdom in remembering that moment in history when God Almighty destined to change the fate of his creation by sending the best of them to guide them to his light and mercy.

So we gather at our various mosques or central points and travel by foot or bus or train or car or any other means of transport available to the grand parade or Waterfront (or any other Parking Spot) on Sunday 19 January 2014  to be there by 7 am(sufficient time after fajr); and to be transported by the MyCiti buses or if you have the energy to take a wonderful stroll on the fan walk to the Green Point Track where we will collectively march under our respective masajid; organization; community or mawlid jamaah banners whilst reciting the Ashraqal from 7:30 am onwards. All Dressed in white,  perhaps creating  a wave of pure muhabbah that overwhelms everyone and everything in its path Insha Allah.

The idea is to place your picnic or prayer mat down and in the spirit of the Muhammad inspired sunnah  assist and share with others as well our comforts to make everyone feel comfortable. Feel free to share the contents of your picnic basket with those that you know and those that you don’t. There will be Akhni on sale as well as a free soft drink with it in keeping with the culinary needs of our ummah at the Southern Tip of Africa.

The plan is to spend the entire day sending salawaat and praises on the best of Allah subhanahu wataala’s creation whose primary focus was and will always be the welfare and wellbeing of you and me and the saving of us from the torment of the fire.

We pray that Allah subhanahu wataala who we are eternally thankful to; facilitate that this love story becomes a  means to unite our hearts and conduct; and a mechanism to permanently plant the seed of love for al mustapha sallalahu alaihi waalihi wasallam in the hearts of our children and youth as we firmly believe that this may be the best way to secure goodness in this world and the hereafter. If we love him it becomes easier to sincerely follow him and if we follow him then that brings us closer to the creator, Aameen.

We love you Oh Rasulullah sallalahu alaihi wasallam.

Was salaam u alaikum Warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu and may you and your family always remain protected by Allah subhanahu wataala (Aameen).

Mawlid SA 1435
